What is a segregated production?

A segregated production is a production in which the bio-based materials are processed in segregated production lines. In this configuration, bio-based content can be measured by C14 analysis in final products.

In segregated production, the bio-based feedstocks are carefully isolated and managed separately at every stage of the supply chain, starting from the sourcing of raw materials to the final manufacturing process. This meticulous separation ensures that bio-based materials remain distinct and untainted by non-renewable sources. By maintaining this strict segregation, manufacturers can accurately label and certify their products as being derived solely from renewable resources
